The buildings’ communication system was selected on the advice of our electrical engineer, and after reviewing the most recent information available with respect to providing state-of-the-art Internet, data transmission and telephone capabilities.  The system is able to offer the capability for 4 telephone lines to each home, together with a compliant system for “Category 5e” wiring, which facilitates high-speed Internet connections.   (We have been reliably informed by our electrical engineer, that although other buildings in Seattle may advertise “Cat 5” wiring, some electrical contractors have not been installing it properly, therefore completely negating its capabilities).  With many people having the requirement for multiple telephone, fax, and modem uses, our system will allow for future expansion with no expensive retrofitting.

We have made provisions that the buildings can receive both cable and satellite TV, as well as terrestrial broadcasts from local transmitters.  Digital programming, including High-Definition (HDTV), is currently available from satellite and cable feeds as well as direct from broadcast services.  This gives residents the best choice for future reception, and enables the buildings to adapt easily to future systems, if required.

All homes will feature wiring already in place for media rooms that could accommodate an array of speakers for a Dolby Digital 7.1 or DTS system for surround sound.  One or more locations in each suite will have the provision for accepting a high-quality television display: large screen, projection televisions; thin, wall-mounted plasma or LCD displays; or state-of-the-art direct view sets.
