All the buildings comply with the very latest building codes for the City of Seattle including the upgraded seismic and fire safety requirements. All homes are equipped with hard-wired smoke detectors, monitored fire alarms, and a fire sprinkler system with recessed heads. Fire alarms are located throughout each individual home and throughout all areas of the buildings, and are monitored full time. Harvard & Highland residents will have small electronic, key fobs that open the vehicle and pedestrian gates leading to their individual buildings, and also open their building’s front door and the garage gate. The below grade parking structure is accessed through a double-door system, involving wrought iron gates at the sidewalk, followed by commercial-grade security doors for the garage itself. This “defense in depth” method is a very secure vehicle entry system, allowing the vehicle occupants to be assured that unauthorized persons are not following them into the garage itself.
